Here is a range of circular walks covering North Devon, Exmoor and the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Inland North Devon is the classic rolling countryside with patchwork quilt fields dissected by rivers and streams. It offers generally easy to moderate walks. The North Devon AONB follows a broad corridor along the coastline offering some spectacular scenery.
Exmoor National Park is generally more hilly, with steep-sided wooded valleys, open moorland with wide open valleys and beautiful picturesque villages. The scenery is superb and the walking can be quite strenuous.
The South West Coast Path starts at Minehead and follows the West Somerset and North Devon coastline. This section is well-known for being strenuous but most rewarding. Walking this whole section just into North Cornwall, you will have climbed Mt. Everest from sea-level once. Walking the whole South West Coast Path, some 630 miles, you will climb Mt. Everest 4 times. It is now considered one of the 10 things to do before you die!! For more information on the South West Coast Path go to www.swcp.org.uk.
